The wait is over! Mohanlal’s debut directorial Barroz has finally got a release date.
On Monday, 6 May, the Malayalam Superstar took to social media to announce the release date of Barroz and also unveiled a new poster. The 3D movie will hit the screens on 12 September for Onam.

Following the announcement of Barroz release date, Malayalam audiences are eagerly waiting to see which major films will hit the theatres for Onam.
Barroz is a fantasy drama. Earlier this year, Mohanlal revealed the 3D poster of this big-budget movie.
Also, the makers unveiled a picture of bald Mohanlal that caught the fancy of his fans and film enthusiasts alike.
Very recently, they released Barroz making video that went viral on social media. The video was launched during the Vanitha Film Awards.
The making video showcased the behind-the-scenes stills from Barroz sets and an intense shot from the flick.
Mohanlal’s directorial debut was supposed to be released on 28 March. However, the makers postponed the release date due to unfinished post-production work.
Barroz‘s screenplay is based on the novel “Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure” written by Jijo Punnoose.
As per the novel, Barroz is the guardian who has been protecting Vasco da Gama’s hidden treasure for over four centuries. He is responsible for passing on this wealth to a true descendant of Vasco da Gama.
Mohanlal plays the titular role in the film. The other cast includes Maya, Sara Vega, Tuhin Menon, Cesar Lorente Raton, Kallirroi Tziafeta, and Guru Somasundaram.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal is busy shooting for the L360, which has Sobhana as the female lead. It is directed by Tharun Moorthy and produced by Rejaputhra Visual Media.
After this, the actor will work on veteran director Joshiy’s Rambaan.
The superstar is also shooting for L2: Empuraan under the direction of Prithviraj Sukumaran. The team is under a schedule break.
Prithviraj recently said they completed 20 percent of the shooting and the foreign schedules.
As per reports, Mohanlal signed films with senior directors Priyadarshan and Sathyan Anthikad.
