Prithviraj says L2: Empuraan is not a sequel to Lucifer

Actor-director-producer Prithviraj Sukumaran is busy promoting his new movie Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life), which is slated for release on 28 March.

He is simultaneously working on his third directorial L2: Empuraan.

Mohanlal’s new look, unveiled recently, from the flick went viral.

Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran returned from the US, where they shot crucial scenes, to take part in Aadujeevitham audio launch.

During an interaction with Film Companion, as part of Aadujeevitham promotion, Prithviraj disclosed some interesting updates about his L2: Empuraan.

He said about 20 percent of the shooting was over. “What is not fully in my control are the locations abroad. There are multiple locations and we need to get permission from the local government and check the weather,” he explained.

“So, the only other overseas schedule that remained is the UAE. I have completed portions in the UK and the US. I have to film some portions in India. Maybe, I have shot about 20 percent of the film,” the actor-director pointed out.

And then, came the real surprise. Prithviraj Sukumaran revealed that he did not even know if he was making a sequel to Lucifer. “You will not see Mohanlal winding his mundu (dhoti) and beating up people in a closed factory in L2: Empuraan,” he quipped.

Interestingly, at the Aadujeevitham audio launch, Mohanlal said he was doing a film which may or may not be a second part of Lucifer.

L2: Empuraan is directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions.
