Following the mixed reviews of The Family Star, film lovers have been searching for the OTT release date of the Vijay Derverakonda-starrer on the internet.

While the family audience liked Parasuram’s latest directorial, the reviews on BookMyShow pointed out that the story suffers major setbacks in terms of screenplay and the overall narrative.

However, it is noteworthy that the digital rights of this movie are owned by one of the leading OTT platforms, Amazon Prime Video. Initially, the news spread that Netflix acquired the rights to the flick.

It is learnt that  The Family Star might be streamed on Amazon Prime Video six weeks after its theatrical release. But an official confirmation is awaited.

Vijay Deverakonda’s fans seem to have enjoyed the movie and are praising its action sequences. They feel that The Family Star will easily break even after the first weekend. The film grossed ₹475k in the US on Friday.

The film’s box-office performance is likely to be boosted by consecutive holidays. Despite initial mixed reviews, there is hope the flick might follow the trend of other films that turned hits. However, the prediction that there is Rashmika Mandanna’s guest appearance in the Vijay Deverakonda-starrer proved to be a rumour.

The Family Star was released in Telugu and Tamil on Friday, 5 April. The collections are expected to reach an unprecedented level on Saturday and Sunday.

Fans opined that Vijay and Mrunal Thakur’s acting is brilliant. One should wait and see how the result of The Family Star will turn out.

The Family Star‘s divided talk to help Manjummel Boys!

Last month, the Telugu dubbed version of the Malayalam film Premalu created a sensation of sorts at the Telugu box office.

An ordinary love story with unfamiliar artistes, Premalu surprised everyone massively as it gave good profits to SS Karthikeya who acquired the dubbing rights. It collected over ₹10 crore worldwide in just 10 days.

Trade pundits predicted that the Telugu dubbed version of the Malayalam movie Manjummel Boys might set the cash registers ringing in the two Telugu states.

The Family Star was released to cash in on the summer holidays. April typically proves to be a favourable month for movies, with various genres garnering good collections during this season.

However, the Vijay Deverakonda-starrer, which was released this week received mixed reviews. As a result, Manjummel Boys Telugu might emerge as the secondary option for viewers.

Manjummel Boys has already attained the industry-hit status in Malayalam by entering the ₹200-crore club. It has been a topic of widespread discussion on social media for the past month. Many Telugu audiences are eagerly anticipating the release of this survival drama.

Had the makers planned more paid premieres, like Premalu, the Telugu version of Manjummel Boys also might have garnered a good response. However, the increased demand and tremendous response to the premiere shows prompted the makers to add extra shows in Hyderabad.

Interestingly, owing to the demand, the number of screens for Premalu had to be increased at the end.

The Telugu version of Manjummel Boys was released amid good buzz on Saturday, 6 April.

Since a big production house like Mythri Movie Makers came forward to release it, the film grabbed a good number of theatres. So, it is no surprise if Manjummel Boys does well at the box office in Telugu, too.
