'Premalu' Telugu version collects over ₹10 crore in 10 days

Following a sluggish start in its initial two days of release, the Telugu dubbed version of Premalu surged to dominance at the box office by raking in respectable collections.

Due to the competition from Vishwak Sen’s Gaami (2024) and Gopichand’s Bhimaa (2024), there was a doubt in the trade circles that Premalu might get washed away as the numbers were not so welcoming in the first week.

However, the business picked up due to the endorsement of SS Rajamouli who attended the success event as a chief guest. Later, Mahesh Babu’s tweet all worked well by registering good footfall. The collections are gradually increasing and running towards huge profits.

According to trade reports, the Telugu version of Premalu grossed ₹10.54 crore in just 10 days of its release.

The film saw more advance bookings on the BookMyShow app when compared to the other new releases.

With an average of over 10,000 tickets sold, evening shows and matinees in cities and district centres in the two Telugu states have consistently reported full houses.

Additionally, viewers have been interested in the Malayalam version in Kerala and elsewhere in South India.

Despite having the availability of screens for the films Gaami and Bhimaa, these Telugu films could not draw the audience. This resulted in theatre owners bringing the Telugu version of Premalu to the screens.

It appears that Premalu will achieve blockbuster status in Telugu. Reports from Chennai indicate a positive response to the Tamil dubbed version of the film when it was premiered just two days ago.

With total collections crossing ₹115 crore across all languages, Premalu stands as one of the low-budget productions to secure a spot among the top 10 industry hits of all time.

This success has also elevated female lead Mamita Baiju’s popularity among Telugu youth.
