First review of Vijay Deverakonda's The Family Star

There seems to be nothing much revealed by the makers in the trailer of Vijay Deverakonda-starrer The Family Man. Except for the fact that he dons the hat of a family man. The crux seems to be hidden.

Scheduled to release in theatres across the globe on 5 April, The Family Star is coming before audiences on the occasion of Ugadi.

Meanwhile, a few industry insiders have already watched the film. The talk suggests that the first half of The Family Star is poised to deliver some delightful humour. Here’s the first review:

Vijay Devarakonda is expected to be praised for his comedy timing in his new venture, which he never explored in his previous works.

His performance in the Telugu movie will draw whistles from his fans. Additionally, there are expectations that the action sequences might resonate strongly with mass audiences.

Industry insiders believe the film will further solidify Devarakonda’s craze among film lovers and his fans.

Those who have watched The Family Star said the audience will get connected with the female lead Mrunal Thakur and the way she calls her hubby “Yevandi“.

The second half seems emotional and the climax will be impressive, according to the initial talk.

Though the story has similarities with Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Gang Leader (1991), it is learnt that director Parasuram’s treatment and style made The Family Star a well-balanced commercial potboiler.

The film is produced under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations owned by Dil Raju.

The songs, the teaser, and the trailer generated good buzz for the flick.

Vijay Devarakonda’s last outing Kushi (2023) didn’t do well at the box office.

However, Mrinal Thakur is a step ahead as her last two Telugu outings — Sita Ramam (2022) alongside Dulquer Salmaan and Hi Nanna (2023) with Nani — were back-to-back hits.

Following the massive success of Geetha Govindam (2018), Vijay and director Parasuram’s collaboration promises another compelling story on the screen.

Fans hope that Gopi Sundar’s music composition is likely to entertain audiences and cinematographer KU Mohanan‘s visuals will bring richness to the flick.

Meanwhile, The Family Star has been certified “U/A” by the censor board on Thursday, 4 April. It has a runtime of 2 hours 30 minutes.
