Premalu2: Malayalam blockbuster ‘Premalu’ to get a sequel in 2025

The announcement about the release of Premalu2 in 2025 came as a pleasant surprise for youths and film buffs who loved the romantic comedy.

Following this, fan theories emerged on social media about the love story of Sachin (Naslen) and Reenu (Mamitha Baiju). Since Sachin decided to migrate to Europe for higher studies in Premalu, it is expected that the love story will continue from there.

Premalu, a blockbuster hit

Made within ₹10 crore, Premalu grossed around ₹130 crore worldwide.

Directed by Girish AD, Premalu entered the ₹100-crore club on its 31st day.

Though its core theme is romance, Premalu is vocal about certain issues like the problems faced by students who want to go abroad to pursue higher studies.

Starring Naslen K Gafoor, Mamitha Baiju, Shyam Mohan, Sangeeth Pratap, and Akhila Bharagavan in key roles, the film is set against the backdrop of Hyderabad city.

Rajamouli’s son SS Karthikeya bought the Telugu rights of Premalu.

The Telugu dubbed version of the flick also collected ₹10 crore. It grossed ₹13.8 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Several Tollwood celebrities, including Superstar Mahesh Babu and directors SS Rajamouli and Anil Ravipudi, praised it.

The Tamil dubbed version was released on 15 March and was received well.

Premalu is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar in Malayalam and Hindi and on AHA in Telugu.
