SS Rajamouli applauds Telugu version of ‘Premalu’

The Telugu dubbing rights of the Malayalam superhit movie have been bagged by Rajamouli's son SS Karthikeya.

The Malayalam superhit movie Premalu is getting a good response in the two Telugu states. The Telugu dubbed version was released on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri on Friday, 8 March.

Directed by Girish AD, the film’s story is set against the backdrop of Hyderabad.

It features Naslin K Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju in major roles.

Upon its release in Kerala, Premalu earned rave reviews and collected ₹85 crore in 28 days.

It raked in around ₹45 crore from across India.

Meanwhile, ace Tollywood director SS Rajamouli has appreciated the Telugu version of Premalu.

After watching the flick, the RRR director took to his social media handle to share his thoughts.

He wrote: “So glad Karthikeya did #Premalu in Telugu. It was a laugh riot throughout. The writer did a fab job in getting the meme/youth language perfectly right. I liked the girl, Reenu in the trailer itself. In the film even the boy Sachin is lovable. But my fav is Aadi…JK…Just Kidding..”

Interestingly, the Telugu dubbing rights of the Malayalam superhit film were bagged by SS Karthikeya, the son of Rajamouli.

Yash Raj Films bagged the rights for the release of the movie in the UK and Europe.

Premalu is produced by Bhavana Studios.

The music was composed by Vishnu Vijay, who earlier composed hit songs for Thallumala (2023) and Falimy (2024).
