Karthik Subbaraj’s latest movie Jigardhanda Double X, starring Lawrence and SJ Suriya, received a good response and did well at the box office.
There were speculations that Karthik Subbaraj would direct Vijay’s last movie before the actor’s political entry. But, ending the rumours, the director announced his next with actor Suriya.
Taking to social media, Suriya and Karthik Subbaraj confirmed the same.
“My Next Film is with the Ever-Awesome@actorsuriya sir. So Pumped up for this #Suriya44,” Karthik Subbaraj wrote in his post on Thursday, 28 March.

As per the poster, the movie promises love, laughter, and war.
It will be produced by 2D Entertainment and Stone Bench Films.

Suriya was expected to join director Vetrimaaran for Vaadi Vasal, but it seems like the flick will take time.
The actor was supposed to team up with Pa Ranjith but there are no updates on the venture.
Meanwhile, he announced his second collaboration — Puranaanooru — with Sudha Kongara after their National Award-winning film Soorarai Pottru (2020).
But recently, team Puranaanooru stated that the movie would get delayed as they wanted to do “justice to the story.”
However, Karthik Subbaraj’s announcement about his next came as a sigh of relief for Suriya’s fans. This is Suriya’s 44th film.
Suriya will next be seen in Kanguva. The teaser is breaking the internet and garnered worldwide appreciation.
The Tamil star hero was last seen in Kamal Haasan’s Vikram (2021) as Rolex. He confirmed that his character would soon get a stand-alone film under the direction of Lokesh Kanagaraj.
He also played a cameo in Madhavan’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect (2022).
