Suriya-Sudha Kongara's 'Puranaanooru' will take more time to commence

Puranaanooru is the new Tamil movie to be rolled out by 2D Entertainment Pvt Ltd, owned by Suriya and Jyothika. The film is directed by Sudha Kongara, who earlier helmed Suriya’s National Award-winning flick Soorarai Pottru (2020).

Since Puranaanooru marks the 43rd film of actor Suriya, there is a lot of excitement among his fans for the project.

However, Suriya’s fans and film buffs will have to wait sometime for the movie to commence.

The makers have announced that the film will take time to go on floors.

In an official statement on Tuesday, 19 March, the makers said, “Puranaanooru requires more time. This collaboration is very special and close to our hearts. We are working towards giving you our best. We will be going on floors very soon.”

Puranaanooru has an ensemble cast, including Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya, and Vijay Varma.

This will mark the debut of Bollywood actor Vijay Varma in the Tamil industry.

The film’s music is composed by GV Prakash. It will be his 100th film as a music composer.

More details about the project are awaited.

Meanwhile, Suriya is busy with Kanguva. The historical film features Bollywood actor Disha Patani as the leading lady.

It is touted to be a “mighty valiant saga” and is set 1,650 years ago.

Kanguva is written and directed by Siva. Studio Green’s KE Gnanavelraja and UV Creations’ Vamsi-Pramod are producing it.

The makers are releasing the teaser on Tuesday evening, 19 March.
