Director Sudha Kongara, who directed the critically acclaimed National Award-winning superhit film Soorarai Pottru (2020), is to direct actor Suriya’s 43rd movie. The title of the project is yet to be announced.
As in the case of Soorarai Pottru, the music of Suriya’s 43rd film, too, will be scored by music director GV Prakash.
Interestingly, it will hold the distinction of being GV Prakash’s 100th film as music director.
Suriya’s upcoming flick will be produced by Jyothika, Suriya, and Rajasekar Karpoorapandian on behalf of Suriya’s own production house 2D Entertainment.

On Thursday, 26 October, Suriya made an official announcement about the film on his Instagram handle by releasing a motion poster which revealed the tagline — Purananooru.
The cast and crew of the movie also took to social media to make the announcement.
The film also features Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan, actress Nazriya Fahadh, and Bollywood actor Vijay Varma in pivotal roles.
It triggered immense excitement as the core team of Soorarai Pottru came together again for this project.
It may be recalled that Soorarai Pottru, which was inspired by the life of Captain Gopinath, won five National Awards including awards for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Film, and Best Background Score.
