Sapta Sagaradaache Ello-Side B (Kannada)

  • Director: Hemanth M Rao

Side A (first part) of Sapta Sagaradaache Ello started like a wonderful cricket test match that needed a bit of patience to fall in love with Rakshit Shetty as Manu and Rukmini Vasanth as Priya.

Hemanth Rao made sure that it was not love at first sight and that it was intentional.

While Side A was the prologue, Side B is simply the epilogue.

So, let’s see whether the sea of emotions expressed by Hemanth Rao through Manu, Priya, and now Surabhi as the new entrant, is worth taking a dip in for a lovely experience or not:

Synopsis

Though makers give a glimpse of Side A during the opening credits, it is better to watch the first part for a better experience of the second.

However, in short, Manu works as a car driver for a rich businessman. He saves his boss’ son from a crime committed by taking the blame upon himself.

Manu was lured by money, and he was in great need to realise his and his lover Priya’s dream. The first part ends tragically, with Priya marrying another person and Manu stuck in jail.

Side B is set in 2021, where a lot has changed with the pandemic due to coronavirus still being a major cause of concern with everyone still wearing face masks.

Manu is released from prison after serving a jail term of 10 years. His close friend from prison is also released and helps him settle in real life.

Director Hemanth introduces Chaitra Achar as Surabhi, a sex worker, as an additional layer to the dejected love story.

Will Manu ever meet Priya, and what is with Surabhi and the revenge saga that has been pending since Manu’s jail term? Most importantly, will Priya ever sing again? Watch Sapta Sagaradaache ElloSide B for all that.

Brilliant emotional transformation

Hemanth Rao’s decision to split Sapta Sagaradaache Ello into two parts makes good sense after watching Side B.

Like all good things take time, the experience of Sapata Sagaradaache Ello is no less than trekking a mountain to witness the beauty of nature.

In other words, Side A was the base camp, and the journey to the summit is a wonderfully scripted finale. It makes a place for itself as one of the best love stories in Kannada films.

Universally, a love story can only exist in two ways — either it ends with the two living happily ever after or the obvious tragic ending.

Hemanth Rao, too, has not done anything beyond that. But the emotional journey of a dejected lover and to what extent one can go to bring back the happiness in the life of the one that matters most to someone is the speciality of Side B.

Hemanth does it brilliantly with the emotional transformation from Side A, which signifies hope that takes a big hit at the end of part one to Side B, giving rise to new hope and effort to secure the happiness of the loved ones.

Rakshit Shetty at his best

Apart from the script, making, and all the effort put in by the technicians to make Side B, Rakshit Shetty packs it with his top-class performance.

As Manu, the actor connects with every Manu-like person in real life. The pain of missing someone one loves the most but living with another man/woman is too good an experience in Sapta Sagaradaache ElloSide B.

Rakshit Shetty’s actions and reactions are close to reality. After 777 Charlie (2022), Rakshit Shetty outperforms himself as Manu will forever be etched as one of his best as an actor, and Hemanth gets all the credit for penning the scenes to good effect.

Chaitra Achar as Surabhi is another wonderful layer of Side B of Sapta Sagaradaache Ello. As they say, when someone is truly in love with something, they tend to ignore the negatives.

Also, only a few aspects can be termed minus in the second part. Even the action sequence and the brilliant music scored by Charan Raj elevate the whole experience to a whole new level.

Verdict

All is well that ends well! Amidst all the action films presently trending in Indian cinema, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello is a relief as one of the finest love stories on the silver screen.

Rakshit Shetty and Hemanth deserve the maximum appreciation for making the audience fall in love once again.
