Charlie to be one of the contestants at the Kananda Bigg Boss season 10 reality show

In a first of its kind, a five-year-old labrador that featured in a pivotal role in the hit Kannada film 777 Charlie (2022) is all set to make history in the television industry.

The pet dog, Charlie, will be one of the star contestants in the latest season of the popular Kannada television reality show — Bigg Boss.

“Yes, Charlie will be one of the contestants in the latest season and we have taken all the necessary permissions from the animal board,” said Prashanth Nayak of Colors-Kannada entertainment channel.

Charlie portrayed the titular role in the Kannada film 777 Charlie.

Directed by Kiranraj K, the flick also features actor-director Rakshit Shetty. It won the Best Feature Film in Kannada at the 69th National Films Awards.

Speaking exclusively to South First, Charlie’s handler Pramod said, “She (Charlie) is going to be one of the contestants in the Kannada reality show. After 777 Charlie, she did not act in any of the movies as we wanted it to be her sole feature film ever.”

As to how the pet will be looked after amidst strangers (other human contestants) within the four walls, Pramod explained that Charlie can get along with strangers since the shooting days for the film 777 Charlie.

“I will also be present outside the premises where the Bigg Boss-Kannada reality show is being held and telecasted,” he added.

“We have already given her (Charlie’s) entire timetable — when to take her for a walk, her diet and how to feed her. She is friendly too, and hence, there will not be any issue. I am only there to assist the crew, as and when they need me,” Pramod said.

Abhinaya Chakravarthy Kiccha Sudeep will be anchoring the reality show in Kannada for the straight tenth season — yet another milestone in the actor’s career.

At a press meet organised over the launch of the latest season of the show, Sudeep reiterated that the show is certainly not a scripted one.

“The show is not a scripted one. My emotions are genuine since I react accordingly to the contestants and the situations. If it was scripted, a lot of things can be easily altered, including who gets eliminated every week and who is the winner,” he explained.

Further, Kiccha Sudeep asserted that just like the audience, he too is completely unaware of who the contestants are, who will get eliminated and who will win.

Kiccha on trolling

Responding to a few contestants who were trolled on social media for their eccentric behaviour, Sudeep said, “A few might question and troll against a certain contestant, but it is not the right way to react to it.”

He noted that even under the law, persons who are convicted of a crime get released after serving some amount of time. “Just because a contestant was trolled for his action, we should not treat him/her the same way. It’s not a humane thing to do.”

About his fitness and stylish looks, Kiccha Sudeep shared that he eats only two meals a day and some fruits in between along with working out religiously for two hours in a day.
