Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival 2024: Kamakshi Bhaskarla bags Best Actress Award for ‘Maa Oori Polimera 2’

Dr Kamakshi Bhaskarla won the Best Actress Award for her performance in Maa Oori Polimera 2, at the esteemed 14th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival 2024 in New Delhi.

She won the award for her powerful portrayal of Lachimi in the 2023 film Maa Oori Polimera 2, directed by Anil Vishwanath.

The film was an official selection at the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival.

In her award acceptance speech at the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival, Kamakshi Bhaskarala expressed her gratitude to team Maa Oori Polimera 2 for taking her aboard. She also thanked the audience for their wide appreciation.

“I’m thrilled that my performance in Maa Oori Polimera 2 has been acknowledged. I want to thank the jury for the award, which makes me feel more responsible. I’m grateful to my mentor Rathna Shekar garu from Samahaara Theatre and my acting coach Neeraj Kabi sir. Thanks to the audience for their love and support. This award is dedicated to all who’ve backed me,” said Kamakshi.

The actor also recalled her efforts and the work that she had put into playing her character in Maa Oori Polimera 2.

“I think it’s because of the collaborative teamwork in the film and I have won the awards. It was heartening to see how far we have come as a team and how audiences from other languages are appreciating content,” she added.

She said the team was confident that the film would do well but never expected awards.

When asked what this award means to her, Dr Kamakshi Bhaskarla replied, “Maa Oori Polimera 2 did exceptionally well and won a lot of appreciation from the audience. So this prestigious award is like the cherry on an already generously iced cake.”
