Malayalam romantic-comedy Premalu, released on 9 February, has completed 52 days in 381 theatres.
The movie also grossed ₹130 crore worldwide as against its budget of approximately ₹20 crore. It earned ₹82 crore in the domestic market.
Starring Naslen K Gafoor, Mamitha Baiju, Shyam Mohan, Sangeeth Pratap, and Akhila Bharagavan in key roles, the flick is set against the backdrop of Hyderabad city.
Earlier, there were reports that the film would make its OTT debut on Disney+ Hotstar in March.
On Tuesday, 2 April, Disney+ Hotstar announced that the OTT premiere of Premalu will be on 12 April.
This would be a perfect festival gift for the OTT audience as Eid and Vishu will be celebrated on 10 April and 14 April respectively.
Meanwhile, there are reports that the Telugu dubbed version of Premalu will be premiered on AHA.
The movie was a super hit in the two Telugu states. The Telugu dubbed version earned over ₹10 crore in just 10 days. It grossed ₹13.8 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
It raked in ₹62 crore in Kerala, ₹10 crore in Tamil Nadu, and ₹5.5 crore in Karnataka.
Directed by Girish AD, Premalu entered the ₹100-crore club on its 31st day.
Though its core theme is romance, Premalu is vocal about certain issues like the problems faced by students who want to go abroad to pursue higher studies.
