Gallery: Did you know these UNESCO World Heritage Sites are in South India?

World Heritage Sites are designated by UNESCO for having cultural, historical, scientific or other forms of significance.

Designated by UNESCO, World Heritage Sites are natural or man-made areas, landmarks, sites or structures recognised as having cultural, historical or scientific significance and therefore deserving special international protection.

While India boasts of 42 of those in total, eight of them belong to South India.
