‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ enters the ₹50-crore club

The film grossed over ₹20 crore in the domestic market and around ₹23 crore in the overseas market.

Varshangalkku Shesham grosses ₹50 crore worldwide

Vineeth Sreenivasan’s latest directorial Varshangalkku Shesham has grossed over ₹50 crore worldwide in seven days.

This is the seventh Malayalam movie to collect ₹50 crore at the global box office this year.

Earlier, Premalu, Bramayugam, Anweshippin Kandethum, Manjummel Boys, Aadujeevitham, and Aavesham entered the ₹50-crore club.

The movie depicts the emotional journey of two friends and ardent cinema lovers — Murali (Pranav Mohanlal) and Venu (Dhyan Sreenivasan). It showcases their struggles in the 1980s-90s Madras, the paradise of Malayalam cinema.

Varshangalkku Shesham is being received well by the family audience.

Actor Nivin Pauly, introduced by Vineeth in Malarvadi Arts Club (2010), plays a key role in the movie.

His entry changes the whole pace of the film.

The flick marks the reunion of Vineeth Sreenivasan, Visakh Subrahmaniam, and Pranav Mohanlal after their blockbuster hit Hridayam (2022).

It also marks the reunion of Nivin Pauly, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Dhyan Srinivasan, Aju Varghese, Basil Joseph and Visakh Subramaniam after Dhyan Sreenivasan’s directorial Love, Action, Drama (2019).

Varshangalkku Shesham collection

According to the Sacnilk tracking website, Varshangalkku Shesham saw a gross collection of over ₹20 crore in the domestic market and around ₹23 crore in the overseas market, making it over ₹50 crore.

It also saw a good collection in the Gulf countries.

  • Day 1: ₹3 crore
  • Day 2: ₹2.75 crore
  • Day 3: ₹3.1 crore
  • Day 4: ₹3.37 crore
  • Day 5: ₹2.86 crore
  • Day 6: ₹2.49 crore
  • Gross: ₹18 crore

Vineeth Sreenivasan wrote the screenplay for Varshangalkku Shesham. Merryland Cinemas was the distributor. Its audio rights and overseas rights were sold for a record amount.

Its other cast includes prominent faces such as Aju Varghese, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Basil Joseph, Vineeth Srinivasan, Neeraj Madhav, Neeta Pillai, Arjun Lal, Aswath Lal, Kalesh Ramnath, and Shaan Rahman.
