SJ Suryah joins 'Sardar 2'. (X)
Tamil actor-director SJ Suryah has joined the sets of Karthi’s upcoming action entertainer, Sardar 2. On Tuesday, 16 July, the makers shared on social media that SJ Suryah came on board for Sardar 2.
PS Mithran’s directorial went on floors in Chennai on 15 July. The team launched the film with a pooja ceremony last week.
Cinematographer George C Williams and stunt director Dhilip Subbarayan, who worked on the first part, are also part of team Sardar 2. However, GV Prakash has been replaced by Yuvan Shankar Raja as music director. Meanwhile, Antony L Ruben will handle editing and Rajeevan Nambiar will oversee production designing.

A spy thriller, Sardar was a blockbuster upon its release for Diwali 2022. It also won critical acclaim. The movie featured Karthi in a dual role (as father and son), while Raashii Khanna and Rajisha Vijayan played the leading ladies.
The other cast included Chunky Pandey, Laila, Rithvik, Munishkanth, Avinash, Yugi Sethu, and Balaji Sakthivel. However, the makers are yet to reveal if these actors will reprise their roles in Sardar 2 as well.
Meanwhile, SJ Suryah was last seen in Jigarthanda Double X and Mark Antony, both released in 2023. The movies performed really well at the box office. He recently played an antagonist in Shankar’s Indian 2.
The actor is also part of Dhanush’s upcoming Tamil film Raayan, which recently was certified with “A” and Shankar-Kamal Haasan’s Indian 3. He will also prominent roles in the Telugu films Saripodhaa Sanivaaram headlined by Nani and Game Changer, starring Ram Charan.
On the other hand, Karthi has a good lineup of films. His Vaa Vaathiyare, directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, features Krithi Shetty, Gautham Karthik, Sathyaraj, and Anandraj in major roles.
His 27th film Meiyazhagan, helmed by Prem Kumar, is expected to be a family emotional drama. Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Kaithi 2 is another major project of Karthi. Further, he is part of Mari Selvaraj’s Karthi28 and Tamizh’s Karthi29.
