Ram Charan wraps up his part for Game Changer

Telugu actor Ram Charan has wrapped up shooting his part for the upcoming anticipated film, Game Changer. Now, we can expect the makers to finish the remaining portion soon and head for the post-production work.

Helmed by maverick director Shankar, Game Changer marks the 50th production venture of Dil Raju. Now that his recent outing, The Family Star, failed miserably at the box office, the producer is pinning all his hopes on this big-budget film.

Game Changer is a pan-Indian movie set against the backdrop of politics. Besides Ram Charan, it stars Bollywood actor Kiara Advani as the leading lady. This is the second collaboration between the two actors after Vinaya Vidheya Rama (2019), a box-office dud. Ram Charan penned an apology letter to his fans for disappointing them.

However, in his next venture-RRR (2022), the actor delivered a smashing hit that took Telugu cinema to the international level and even won the Oscar. Later, in Acharya (2022), he shared the screen with his actor-father Chiranjeevi and even produced the flick.

Acharya opened to mixed reviews but did a decent job at the box office. Coming to Game Changer, Ram Charan will play an IAS officer in the Shankar film.

The actor will now start working on Buchi Babu Sana’s movie, tentatively titled RC16. It is a pan-Indian film, too. The makers of RC16 kick-started the project in March this year with a grand pooja ceremony.

Game Changer also casts SJ Suryah, Srikanth, Anjali, Naveen Chandra, and Sunil in the main roles. Thaman S scored the music. The political thriller is expected to be released in December. However, an official confirmation is awaited from its makers.

Interestingly, Chiranjeevi’s most-anticipated socio-fantasy film, Vishwambhara, under the direction of Vassishta Mallidi, is hitting the screens on 10 January 2025. Similarly, Allu Arjun is all set to entertain the audience as Pushparaj via his Pushpa: The Rule on 6 December. This leaves Decemern as the only option for Game Changer to this the big screens.

Well, the 2024 year-end and the New Year will see the clash of the titans at the Telugu box office!

Meanwhile, director Shankar is busy promoting his highly-anticipated pan-India film, Indian 2. The sequel to Indian (1996) brings back Kamal Haasan as Senapahty. Indian 2 is gearing up for a grand release worldwide on 12 July.

Backed by Lyca Productions, the film also stars Siddharth, SJ Suryah, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Vivek, Brahmanandam, Samuthirakani, Kalidas Jayaram, and Manobala in prominent roles.

The team recently toured Singapore and Malaysia for promotions. Shankar will release Indian 3 a few months after the release of Indian 2.

In an interview, Kamal Haasan said he did Indian 2 because he found the third instalment (Indian 3) more exciting. However, after his statement was misinterpreted, the Tamil superstar clarified that his preference for Indian 3 neither diminishes the significance of Indian 2 nor his appreciation for the film.
