After a lukewarm response to The Family Star (2024), Vijay Deverakonda is back with an intriguing project.

Produced by Dil Raju and Sirish, under the Sri Venkateswara Projects banner, the project is tentatively titled SVC59.

Ravi Kiran Kola is the director.

While the film was announced a few days ago, the makers released a poster on the occasion of Vijay Deverakonda’s birthday on Thursday, 9 May.

The SVC59 poster gives the impression that the Vijay Deverakonda-starrer will be an action drama.

Against a red backdrop, the poster showcases a hand wielding a sword.

The SVC59 poster also carries the tagline, “Kathi nene, Nethutru Naade, Yudham Naathone… (I am the sword; it is my blood, and the war is with me.)”

The movie is directed by Raja Vaaru Raani Gaaru (2019) fame Ravi Kiran Kolla. The details of the other cast and crew are not yet announced.

Sharing the poster, Ravi Kiran Kola wrote on X: “The blood on his hands is not of their death but of his own Rebirth.”

Vijay Deverakonda, too, shared the SVC59 poster with the same caption.

The poster was also released in Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, and Hindi.

Vijay Deverakonda hasn’t had a huge hit in the last few years.

His last venture with Parusuram, The Family Star, also received mixed reviews.

Meanwhile, Ravi Kiran Kola’s last film was Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam released in 2022.

The film starring Vishwak Sen was set in the initial days of the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown.

Rahul Sankrityan will be directing this historical drama.

VD14 is the second collaboration of Rahul Sankrityan with Vijay after Taxiwala (2018).

Sharing the poster on X, the actor wrote the caption, “The Legend of the Cursed Land”.

VD14, bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, will blend the elements of political intrigue and period action drama.

Production on this untitled film, which is expected to start in 2024, will take place against the backdrop of the Rayalaseema region.

Latest update on VD12

Gowtam Tinnanuri, the director of Jersey (2019), has revealed on X that team VD12 has been filming a “massive schedule” in and around Visakhapatnam.

Tinnanuri also added that this would be an ambitious project for everybody involved.

It seems that a teaser from VD12 will be released by the makers soon.

There were rumours last year that the Gowtam Tinnanuri’s project might not proceed further due to financial difficulties. However, there haven’t been any updates since the project started in June.

Now that there has finally been an update, Vijay Deverakonda’s fans can’t keep calm.

The actor was seen as a police officer in the first-look poster released last year. The poster also depicted a flaming ship amidst the ocean.

Vijay claimed on X that upon hearing the script, his heart skipped a few beats.
