Mammootty’s ‘Turbo’ to hit the screens on 13 June

While announcing the release date, the makers also released a new poster, where Mammootty sits on top of a jeep with a fierce look.

Turbo release announced

Malayalam Superstar Mammootty will next be seen in the comedy-action entertainer Turbo, helmed by director Vysakh.

Mammootty is working with the filmmaker for the third time after their successful films Pokkiriraja (2010) and Madhura Raja (2019).

On Sunday, 14 April, the makers announced that Turbo will be released in theatres on 13 June.

They also released a new poster, where Mammootty sits on top of a jeep with a fierce look.

Earlier, the first-look poster created waves on social media. In the poster, Mammootty wore a Black shirt and dhoti. It also revealed the name of his character (Turbo Jose).

The second-look poster showcased the actor sitting in a police station with a few more people.

Raj B Shetty and Sunil part of the cast

Kannada actor Raj B Shetty is also part of Turbo. This is Raj B Shetty’s second Malayalam film after his debut in Rudhiram, which is in the post-production stage.

The actor is popular among the Malayalam audience as his movie Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana (2021) earned him a fanbase in Kerala. His recent Kannada movie Toby (2023), dubbed into Malayalam, had a good run in theatres.

Telugu actor Sunil is also playing a pivotal role in Turbo.

Fifth project of Mammootty Kampany

Turbo is the fifth production venture under Mammootty’s home banner Mammootty Kampany. The shooting of the big-budget movie commenced on the occasion of Dasara.

Midhun Manuel Thomas is the scriptwriter. Christo Xavier is the music director.

Vishnu Sarma is the cinematographer. Shameer Muhammed is the editor.

Mammootty’s other upcoming projects include Bazooka, directed by Deeno Dennis, and an untitled film helmed by Mahesh Narayanan.

Bazooka wrapped up the shoot in March and is under post-production.
