Little Hearts makes OTT debut on Amazon Prime Video

The Malayalam movie Little Hearts, featuring Shane Nigam and Mahima Nambiar in the lead roles, made its OTT debut on Amazon Prime Video on Tuesday, 13 August.

The film evoked a decent response from the audience upon its theatrical release. However, it couldn’t be released in the GCC countries, where it was banned by the government for supporting same-sex relationships.

Following the ban, Little Hearts producer Sandra Thomas, took to social media, saying: “The news (ban) comes as a huge disappointment as we put our heart and soul into making this film.”

Sandra Thomas also apologised to the Malayali audience in the GCC countries for disappointing them.

Little Hearts is directed by Anto Jose Periera and Aby Aby Treesa Paul. It has an ensemble cast, including Shine Tom Chacko, and Baburaj.

Sandra Thomas Productions bankrolled the project, while Kailas Menon composed the music and background score.

Little Hearts featured Shane Nigam and Baburaj as son and father. The romantic-comedy deals with different types of love stories, of which a gay love story was a part too. The filmmakers drew applause for being sensible and responsible in showcasing the same-sex relationship.

Despite the warm response to the film at the box office, Shane Nigam-Mahima Nambiar’s combination was celebrated by the viewers though. Earlier, the duo worked together for RDX (2023), a super hit. Now, it is to be seen how Little Hearts will perform in the OTT space.
