Mohalal’s next venture tentatively titled L360, now has a title— Thudaram. The film is directed by the National award-winning director Tharun Moorthy.
In the National Awards 2022, producer Sandip Senan and director Tharun Moorthy received the Best Feature Film in Malayalam Award for Saudi Vellakka.
Thudaram also marks the reunion of Mohanlal and Shobana after 15 years. Earlier, the duo was seen together in the 2009 film Sagar Alias Jacky.
Some of Shobana-Mohanlals hit films include Pakshe (1994), Minnaram (1994), Manichithrathazhu (1994), and Thenmavin Kombathu (1994).
M Renjith of Rejaputhra Visual Media is bankrolling Thudaram. Tharun Moorthy and KR Sunil wrote it. Nishad Yusuf edited it, and Vishnu Govind was the sound designer.
Jakes Bejoy is composing the music. He teamed up with Tharun Moorthy earlier for Operation Java (2021).
Sharing the news on social media, Mohanlal wrote: “Proud to reveal the title of my upcoming project, ‘Thudarum’, directed by Tharun Moorthy, produced by M Renjith, under the banner of Rejaputhra Visual Media.”
A poster of Thaduram also was released along with the title reveal. The poster showed Mohanlal and a group of children in school uniforms, who he is dropping to school. The film is anticipated to be a drama.
In early October, the film unit completed its last schedule in Chennai.
On the other hand, the sequel to Lucifer (2019), Empuraan directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran is set to hit the theatres on 27 March, 2025.
Apart from Mohanlal, the film has Manju Warrier, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and others in lead roles. L2: Empuraan is touted to be an action entertainer.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal’s directorial debut Barroz is also expected to be released soon. He will also be seen in Rambaan, directed by veteran filmmaker Joshiy.
The Malayalam Superstar is also a part of other non-Malayalam films like Vrishabha and Kannappa. Both are touted to be pan-Indian projects.
