Every update about Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and his films has been a hot topic of discussion on social media. In an interesting update, the actor is teaming up with a young director for his next — L360.
Operation Java (2021) director Tharun Moorthy on Sunday 17 March, took to social media to announce that he is helming the 360th movie of Mohanlal, tentatively titled L360.
Soon after the announcement, netizens started discussing the genre of the film.
M Renjith will produce L360 under Rejaputhra Visual Media.
The film is written by Tharun Moorthy and KR Sunil — a photographer, painter and sculptor.
The venture has already piqued the interest of industry insiders and the Malayalam audience.
Unlike his contemporary Mammotty, who works with newcomers, Mohanlal mostly collaborates with seasoned filmmakers. Hence, his fans and film buffs are excited about this new development.
Meanwhile, on Monday evening, 18 March, Mohanlal shared a picture on his social media handles and confirmed the news about L360. The Malayalam Superstar revealed that the shooting will begin in April.
His post read: “Looking forward to working with Tharun Moorthy and M Renjith for my 360th film. Directed by Tharun Moorthy, the film is scripted by KR Sunil and the director himself. The project is produced by M. Renjith under Rejaputhra Visual Media. Appreciating your prayers and well wishes as the shoot begins this April.”
Mohanlal has been working in the Malayalam industry for over 40 years.
His recent release Malaikottai Vaaliban (2024), released this January, failed to meet the audiences’ expectations and didn’t do well at the box office.
However, Neru, released in December last year, was a superhit flick.
Mohanlal is hosting the Bigg Boss Season 6 in the Malayalam satellite channel Asianet.
The actor is also working on his new movie L2:Empuraan, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. It is a sequel to his blockbuster movie Lucifer (2019). The makers recently unveiled a new picture of Mohanlal, which went viral.
After this, the actor is teaming up with veteran director Joshiy for Rambaan.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal’s directorial debut Barroz is under production now.
