Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki 2898-AD’ will be our Avengers’ moment, says Rana Daggubati

Kalki 2898-AD is our Avengers' moment, says Rana Daggubati

Rana Daggubati has defined Prabhas’ upcoming flick Kalki 2898-AD as the Avengers’ moment from Telugu cinema.

The Telugu star also called the pan-India film the “next big moment” that he is eagerly waiting for.

The Baahubali (2015 and 2017) actor recently gave an interview to Vamshi Kurapati for the latter’s podcast channel “Raw Talks With VK”.

In the tête-à-tête, though he was a part of Kalki 2898-AD, Rana Daggubati shared his joy for director Nag Ashwin’s much-awaited science fiction.

“Nag Ashwin is a very dear friend. Not just Indians but everyone in the world will connect to Kalki. For a long time, I have been waiting for an Avengers‘ moment from Tollywood and that’s what has excited me about Kalki 2898-AD,” Rana added.

It may be recalled that Rana Daggubati accompanied team Kalki 2898-AD to the San Diego Comic-Con when it was tentatively titled Project K.

Also, at the India Today Conclave, the actor-producer expressed his excitement for Kalki 2898-AD.

He disclosed that Prabhas and he share a mutual admiration for each other’s cinema and opined that the project (Kalki) would transcend boundaries.

He hailed the film saying that it would cause a global phenomenon in Telugu cinema.

Rana believes Kalki 2898-AD has the potential to surpass the impact of blockbusters like Baahubali and RRR (2022) pushing the envelope further and captivating audiences worldwide.

Singeetham’s input for Kalki 2898-AD

Meanwhile, Telugu filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao is learned to have shared his inputs with director Nag Ashwin for the mythological film.

The veteran director crafted a grand mythological tale centered on Lord Krishna and this episode is being presented on a large scale.

While developing the sci-fi thriller based on Lord Krishna, the makers approached Singeetham Sreenivas to bring a distinct look for the final avatar in the Prabhas-starrer. He agreed to share a major contribution to the script.

Kalki 2898-AD is set for release on 27 June.

Filmgoers have to wait and see how Lord Krishna has been adapted to the new-age entertainer.
