Telangana Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, on Monday, 19 September released baby fishes in Tukkuguda of the Rangareddy district. She said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao introduced the scheme for the economic growth of fishermen. Reddy added that 88.53 crore baby fishes will be released this year in 26,778 water resources across the state. Out of this government plans to release 60 lakh fish seedlings in Rangareddy alone.
The Telangana government also plans to provide two-wheelers and four-wheelers to fishermen for marketing purposes. Reddy said that the programme would cost ₹68 crore to the government
