Protests over move to privatise government hospitals in Karnataka

Several organisations have threatened state-wide protests over a move to privatise government hospitals in Karnataka.

The state chapter of India’s People’s Health Movement and other organisations held a protest in Davanagere opposing the government’s move to run hospitals on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.

The Save Government Hospital campaign stated that privatising hospitals will make healthcare inaccessible to sections of society.
