Synopsis: KTR further recalled how youth have always been an important part of the people’s movements. “The world has seen how during the Telangana movement, youth had fought for the state,” he said, adding, “You are the building blocks of tomorrow’s Telangana, can that youth be cheated?”
BRS on Saturday, July 18, conducted the Yuva Sangrama Sadassu at Saroornagar Stadium in Hyderabad to highlight the Congress government’s failure to fulfil its promises on jobs and student welfare.
Ahead of BRS working president KTR speaking at the programme, youth affected by unemployment spoke and criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Congress government.
One of the youth, training guns at the Chief Minister, said, “Back then, if we questioned, they called us unemployed… Today, if we question, they are calling us a BRS worker.” Recalling a meeting with Rahul Gandhi, the youth challenged him to come to Ashok Nagar once again and answer the questions of unemployed youth.
BRS had made extensive arrangements for the event and had called upon unemployed youth and students to attend it in large numbers.
KTR, addressing the meeting, said, “Greetings to the students of Osmania, Kakatiya, Palamuru, Shatavahana university students, greetings to the competitive exam aspirants who have come from Ashok Nagar, Dilshuknagar, Chikadpally.”
“Watching the enthusiasm of the unemployed youth in the Saroornagar meeting, your downfall is visible, Revanth Reddy,” the BRS leader added.
KTR further recalled how youth have always been an important part of the people’s movements. “The world has seen how during the Telangana movement, youth had fought for the state,” he said, adding, “You are the building blocks of tomorrow’s Telangana; can that youth be cheated?”
“Today’s programme has been organised to remind how the youth of the state have been cheated, and teach those behind it a lesson,” the Sircilla MLA asserted.
Recalling the promise made by Congress before the 2023 Assembly elections, KTR noted, “At the same Saroornagar stadium, on May 8, 2023, they released a worthless document called the Youth Declaration. Where have those promises gone?” The video of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi announcing two lakh government jobs was played.
The BRS leader later questioned the youth present if the promises were fulfilled. When the answer came in the negative, KTR claimed, “The young generation got cheated by an old jackal.”
Training guns at Rahul Gandhi, KTR said, ” He came from Delhi, ate biscuits, and tossed some biscuits to us too. He said, ‘If we remove KCR, and KTR from their jobs, we would provide 2 lakh jobs in just one year.'”
Targeting Rahul Gandhi’s “Mohabbat Ki Dukaan” slogan, KTR remarked, “You spoke of a Mohabbat Ki Dukaan, but for Telangana’s youth it has become a Gaddari Ka Ghar.”
KTR questioned Rahul Gandhi over the promises made at the Ashok Nagar tea stall ahead of the Telangana Assembly elections, asking what happened to Congress’ commitments of 2 lakh government jobs, a Job Calendar, ₹4,000 unemployment allowance, scooters for women, and ₹10 lakh interest-free loans for youth.
Alleging that the Congress government had completely failed Telangana’s unemployed youth, KTR said that while lakhs of job aspirants were awaiting recruitment notifications, the government was engaged in “lootification” instead of issuing job notifications.
Recalling that the Congress had unveiled its Youth Declaration from the same venue three years ago, KTR said the youth of Telangana had now seen through the Congress’ false promises and were ready to write the party’s “Death Declaration” from the very same place
“Your nominated chief minister, instead of providing jobs to the youth, is filling your pockets in Delhi. Our youth is now alert, and can see through the false promises,” he added.
KTR further criticised Rahul Gandhi and said, “He speaks of democracy, and poses with the Constitution in Delhi, but can’t he see the attacks happening on students in Hyderabad under his government?”
“Revanth Reddy, meanwhile, says he will work till Rahul Gandhi is made Prime Minister. Was he made the Mminister to provide jobs to unemployed youth or provide a job to Rahul Gandhi,” KTR questioned.
KTR further questioned the Congress on the promises it made with regard to jobs prior to elections.
“They said two lakh jobs would be provided by December 2024. But none of those promises has been fulfilled. Jobs are not being filled, Rahul Gandhi’s pockets are being filled,” KTR said.
“Congress leaders are each spouting their own separate lies without batting an eye. One says 80,000, another says 70,000, yet another says 60,000. All I’m asking is, don’t you feel ashamed to steal the credit for job notifications released by KCR? If you can prove that 70,000 jobs were given by your government, with notifications as proof, I will retire from politics.”
“In reality, the government itself has admitted in the Legislative Assembly that it provided only 16,978 jobs. And if you subtract the re-notifications from that, they haven’t even delivered a total of ten thousand jobs,” KTR claimed.
“When the youth have protested in Dilshuknagar to notify 20,000 police jobs, the chief minister says, he won’t even if you die,” KTR noted, further criticising Revanth Reddy.
Recalling slain Osmania University student leader George Reddy’s slogan “Learn to die, if you want to live, learn to fight at every step”, KTR asserted that the students of Osmania, Hyderabad Central University, and others will write the end of Congress and Revanth Reddy.
KTR recalling the BRS tenure, noted, “During our tenure, we had established T-Hub and T-Works, a platform to turn ideas into innovations. Today, a company born out of the same platform, Skyroot, launched first private rocket in the country, from Sriharikota.”
KTR, also criticising the BJP, claimed, “We should not question just the incompetent Congress who can’t stop companies from leaving, we must also question the BJP who are taking away our companies.”
“If we speak about Telangana’s interests, they are calling it regionalism, but at the same time, how is taking the industries and companies from Telangana to Gujarat, nationalism?”
Accepting the BRS government’s failures, KTR said they should have handled the TSPSC paper leak in a better way.
Meanwhile, ahead of the Yuva Sangrama Sadassu program, the Telangana police placed its general secretary RS Praveen Kumar and former Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy under house arrest.
However, RS Praveen Kumar later shared that he is reaching the programme venue after crossing the police cordon. He added, “The Narsingi police are still pursuing me. No matter how many obstacles they create, we will make the Yuva Sangrama Sadassu a success.”

Before this, RS Praveen Kumar had criticised the house arrest, calling it, “This detention is reminiscent of Indira’s Emergency. Again, they are shamelessly calling it a public rule (Prajala palana)! They have been creating obstacles to our meetings since the beginning.”
Former Minister and Maheshwaram MLA lashed out at the police, claiming, “What is this about obstructing a meeting being held with court permission? It does not suit the Revanth government to discriminate against the unemployed.”
