Wayfarer Films to produce Kalyani Priyadarshan's next with Naslen

Malayalam actor-producer Dulquer Salmaan’s production house Wayfarer Films has announced their seventh venture. The untitled film features Kalyani Priyadarshan and Premalu-fame Naslen in the lead roles and is directed by Arun Dominic.

Wayfarer Films launched the project with an official pooja ceremony on Thursday, 12 September. Kalyani Priyadarshini gave the clap for the first shot.

Sharing the photos from the pooja ceremony on X, Wayfarer Films wrote: “New beginnings are always exciting and this one promises to be most special!!

Today after a bit of a gap we start the seventh production by Wayfarer Films, featuring Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen in the lead roles, with the screenplay and direction helmed by Arun Dominic.”

Sharing the news on her Instagram stories, Kalyani Priyadarshan claimed she is most excited for this “new chapter”.

Noting that her first film in Malayalam cinema, Varane Avashyamund (2020), was under the same banner, the actor expressed her happiness about collaborating with them again.

This yey-untitled venture is the second film of Kalyani Priyadarshan in collaboration with Wayfarer Films. In Varane Avashyamund, she was paired up with Dulquer Salmaan. It also featured Shobana and Suresh Gopi in the lead roles. It was also a Wayfarer Films production.

Meanwhile, Kalyani Priyadarshan will next be seen in the Tamil film Genie alongside Jayam Ravi and in the Malayalam movie Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira alongside Fahadh Faasil.

On the other hand, Naslen rose to fame with his recent box office hit Premalu (2024). The film, set in Hyderabad, was a coming-of-age story of a Malayali couple.

Naslen has I Am Kathalan and Premalu 2 in the pipeline. Both films are with director Girish AD, who previously helmed Premalu.
