'Thangalaan' has a unique music, says GV Prakash Kumar

Tamil actor Vikram and ace director PA Ranjith have teamed up for Thangalaan.

The movie has been running high on expectations since its announcement, thanks to the rare combination of a critically acclaimed director and a versatile actor.

GV Prakash Kumar is composing the music for Thangalaan.

On Wednesday, 24 April, the music director revealed an interesting update about the film.

GV Prakash disclosed that he is busy scoring the background music for Thangalaan and has tried a new voicing style.

In his X account, G Prakash wrote: “Thangalaan bgscore on progress. Will be something very unique and special. A new voicing style. Excited to show u all on screens soon . @beemji @chiyaan @StudioGreen2.”

Now, Vikram’s fans are busy guessing how the background score would be and can’t wait to listen to the new voicing style attempted by the young music composer.

They hope Thagalaan will be a box-office hit, especially since Vikram’s previous film Cobra (2022) did not meet their expectations.

Vikram’s action thriller Mahaan, released on Amazon Prime Video, was well received. It missed the theatrical release due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Thangalaan — A period drama

Thangalaan is touted to be a period drama.

The makers released a tribute video on Vikram’s birthday early this month.

The video raised expectations for the movie. It shows Vikram attempting some action scenes and getting makeup done for his character.

The story revolves around the Kolar Gold Fields and will deal with the origins of the place.

Studio Green and Neelam Productions are producing the Tamil flick. Tamil Praba co-wrote the script.

Thangalaan features Parvathy Thiruvothu as the leading lead.

Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy and British actor Daniel Caltagirone play key roles in it.

Netflix bagged the digital rights for the movie. It will be released in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.

The makers are yet to confirm its release date.
