The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne is excited to name Global Star Ram Charan Tej as the Guest of Honour for its 15th edition. Thus, Ram Charan becomes the first Indian celebrity to be awarded the Ambassador for Indian Art & Culture at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.
Known for his impressive blockbusters and wide appeal, the Telugu actor will enhance this prestigious annual celebration of Indian cinema. Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, hosted annually by the Victorian State Government, will be held from 15-25 August 2024.

Ram Charan, son of megastar Chiranjeevi, expressed his gratitude, “I am deeply honoured to be part of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, which showcases the diversity and richness of Indian cinema on an international stage.”
The 39-year-old star views it as a privilege to represent Indian films globally.
“It’s a privilege to represent our film industry and engage with fans and cinephiles worldwide. The success and global admiration for RRR (2022) have been overwhelming, and I am excited to share this moment with the Melbourne audience. I look forward to this opportunity to showcase our national pride in Melbourne,” he added.
Indian Film Festival of Melbourne Festival Director Mitu Bhowmick Lange stated that Ram Charan’s presence at the 15th edition of the festival will bring added excitement and prestige.
“His performance in RRR has set new standards and cemented his status as one of Indian cinema’s most influential actors. We are thrilled to welcome him to Melbourne and look forward to celebrating his achievements with the festival audience,” Lange added.
Ram Charan’s epic film RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli, not only broke box office records but also brought immense pride to India by winning the Oscar for Best Original Song with “Naatu Naatu“.
These accomplishments underscore his significant impact on Indian cinema and his widespread global recognition.
On the work front, Ram Charan is set to appear in Shankar’s political thriller Game Changer alongside Kiara Advani, RC16 with Janhvi Kapoor, and RC17 under the direction of Sukumar.
