Rashmika Mandanna's first look from Kubera

The makers of Kubera, headlined by Dhanush, have revealed Rashmika Mandanna’s first-look video, where she is seen digging up a suitcase filled with cash while making her escape.

Rashmika Mandanna’s first look garnered over 2 million digital views within six hours of its launch.

In May, the team also unveiled the first-look video of Telugu star Akkineni Nagarjuna, who plays a significant role in Sekhar Kammula’s directorial.

In the first-look video, Nagarjuna is shown wearing spectacles and holding an umbrella in the rain. Despite a truck loaded with currency notes behind him, the actor maintains a serious expression.

He walks away from the truck and discovers a ₹500 note on the ground. Afterwards, he retrieves another note from his pocket and places it inside the truck.

Reports indicate that Nagarjuna will play an upright government official in Kubera.

During filming, Dhanush willingly spent over 10 hours near a garbage dump in Mumbai for his character. Director Sekhar Kammula, known for his realistic approach, chose the location to depict the hero’s suffering in challenging and unpleasant conditions.

Both actor and director proceeded with shooting without hesitation, enduring over 12 hours without masks, capturing a raw and poignant scene.

Audiences will see a fresh side of Dhanush in Kubera, which is envisioned as a pan-India film.

Also featuring Jim Sarbh, Kubera is produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Rama Mohan Rao under Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations Private Limited.

Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music and Niketh Bommi is serving as the cinematographer for the film. Chaitanya Pingali has collaborated with Sekhar Kammula in co-writing the script.

Kubera marks Dhanush’s debut collaboration with the renowned Telugu director.

Director Sekhar Kammula, known for romantic dramas like Fidaa (2017) and Love Story (2021) is venturing into a new genre with Kubera, touted to be an action-adventure. He aimed to step away from his usual projects and crafted this intense and emotion-driven story to demonstrate his versatility.
