Dhanush and Nagarjuna to do risky stunts in Kubera

National Award-winning filmmaker Sekhar Kammula is currently engaged in shooting his upcoming film Kubera, featuring Dhanush and Nagarjuna.

The production has kicked off a significant action schedule at specially constructed sets in Hyderabad, involving the entire cast of the movie.

According to a press release from the makers, both Dhanush and Nagarjuna will showcase thrilling stunts in the Hyderabad schedule.

This highlights that Kubera will portray them in distinct roles, as depicted in their first-look posters.

Additionally, the team shared a behind-the-scenes image capturing Sekhar discussing a scene with his crew.

The principal dialogue scenes of Kubera have been shot, and the post-production phase is in progress for this socially relevant drama.

Dhanush dedicated a strenuous 10-hour period to filming scenes at a Mumbai garbage dump, fully embodying the character he portrays.

Alongside Dhanush and Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna and Jim Sarbh are also a part of the current shooting schedule.

Kubera is a collaborative effort between Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao, produced under the Sri Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations Pvt Ltd banner.

In March of this year, the first glimpse of Dhanush in Kubera was unveiled, portraying him in ragged attire yet sporting a smile.

Sekhar Kammula creatively contrasted Kubera, the god of wealth, with Dhanush’s dishevelled appearance (featuring long hair and a beard).

The background showcases a mural depicting Lord Shiva receiving alms from Goddess Annapurna.

A multilingual project, being simultaneously filmed in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, Kubera has a musical score by Devi Sri Prasad.

While Niketh Bommi handles the cinematography, Chaithanya Pingali has co-written Kubera with Sekhar Kammula.

This is Dhanush’s first collaboration with the acclaimed Telugu director.

Additionally, the actor is returning to the director’s chair with Raayan, after Pa Paandi (2017).

Also starring him, Raayan, has Selvaraghavan, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Dushara Vijayan, SJ Suryah, Aparna Balamurali, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in key roles.

Further, he will star in the Ilaiyaraaja’s biopic, helmed by Arun Matheswaran of Captain Miller (2024) fame.
