Balakrishna to reprise Fahadh Faasil's Ranga in Telugu remake of Aavesham?

If reports are true, Fahadh Faasil’s latest Malayalam superhit film Aavesham will soon get a Telugu remake. And guess what? Veteran actor Nandamuri Balakrishna will reportedly reprise Fahadh Faasil’s role (Ranga) in the Telugu remake.

According to media reports, the Telugu remake of Aavesham will all likely be produced by Mythri Movie Makers and might go on the floors next year. However, there is no official confirmation on this yet.

Aavesham collected over ₹156 crore worldwide. It was made on a budget of about ₹30 crore. Fahadh Faasil was widely appreciated for his performance as a local don who speaks Malayalam mixed with Kananda.

The movie, directed by Jithu Madhavan, revolves around three college youths who are harassed by their seniors. In their efforts to seek revenge against their seniors, they befriend a local don named Ranga (played by Fahadh Faasil).

The dialogue “Eda Mone” (Hey boy) and “Idoke Sradhikande Ambane?” (Why don’t you check all these Amban?) from Aavesham became popular among youngsters.

Aavesham is a pakka mass entertainer. It introduced Fahadh Faasil as a mass hero; the “Reintroducing Fafa (Fahad Faasil)” in the title card was intended for the same.

The Malayalam movie boasts some outstanding songs composed by Sushin Shyam. The jukebox of the film is still trending on online music platforms.

Sajin Gopu as Amban, the henchman of Ranga, got equal screen time as Fahadh. Also, their combo delivered some brilliant punches and scenes, which worked well in theatres.

Aavesham was further elevated by its quirky writing, similar to Mammootty’s films like Rajamanickam (2005) and Pokkiri Raja (2007). The movie is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The Hindi version is available on Disney+ Hotstar.

Meanwhile, rumours are agog that the Telugu remake will be directed by Harish Shankar, who is helming Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh, an official remake of the 2016 Tamil movie Theri.
