Telugu watchlist for March 2024. (X)
For those sober film lovers vexed with the dry and dull month of February, the upcoming films in March 2024 have a promising mix of entertainment and action.
While Vishwak Sen’s Gaami seems to be a neo-noir-kind of experimental drama, Varun Tej’s action entertainer Operation Valentine may strike big with air warfare and adrenaline action in theatres.
For those who wish to munch on the comedy genre, Vennela Kishore and Siddhu Jonnalagadda have something quirky this season to dish out.
Here is the Telugu watchlist for March 2024:
Operation Valentine
The first film in the list is Varun Tej-starrer Operation Valentine, touted to be a patriotic and edge-of-the-seat action entertainer.
It showcases the might of the Indian Air Force fighting against the rival enemies.
The story depicts the challenges the Air Force warriors face as they fight one of the biggest, fiercest aerial attacks that the country has ever seen.
Varun Tej appears as Arjun Rudra Dev Singhania, while Manushi Chhillar plays his love interest Sonal Chauhan.
Navdeep plays Wing Commander Kabir Singh.
Ruhani Sharma will be seen as Tanya Sharma.
After a streak of duds, Varun Tej bets big on this much-awaited film.
After the success with Fidaa, Varun was back in the reckoning with Anil Ravipudi’s directorial F2: Fun and Frustration (2019). With Gaddalakonda Ganesh (2019), he cemented his place as a potential star in Tollywood with producers vying to invest in him.
However, the actor happened to see back-to-back flops. Fans wish him he bounces back with Operation Valentine this summer.

Another promising movie that the Telugu audience could not hold their nerves for its release in theatres is Tillu Square. Post Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s celebrated film DJ Tillu (2021), the expectations for his sequel reached sky-high.
Tillu Square is about DJ Tillu (Sidhu Jonnalagadda) whose life turns upside down when his love interest Radhika (Anupama Parameswaran) murders her fiance.
The sequel, directed by Mallik Ram, was supposed to hit the marquee on 15 September 2023. However, it was postponed multiple times due to post-production issues.
It was scheduled for a worldwide release on 9 February 2024 but was postponed again to accommodate Ravi Tea’s Eaglefrom a five-way Sankranthi clash.
It is now scheduled for a theatrical release on 29 March 2024 after several delays.
Anupama Parameswaran plays the role of Lilli, Tillu’s love interest.
Muralidhar Goud will be seen as Tillu’s father and CVL Narasimha Rao as Lilli’s father.
Murali Sharma, Praneeth Reddy Kallem, and Raj Tirandasu play crucial roles.
Gaami starring Vishwak Sen seems to be another quirky subject. The film is releasing in theatres on 8 March.
Vishwak Sen, as an Aghora—a wounded man set on a mystical adventure into the deep Himalayas to find his cure.
Directed by debutant Vidyadhar Kagita, the film’s screenplay is co-written by Pratyush Vatyam.
Gaami chronicles the adventurous journey of Shankar— a wounded, reluctant and reclusive Aghora on his quest to find a cure for his rare condition named Touch Starvation, an inability to experience any human touch.
But this adventure for cure would be fulfilled, only when he can confront and conquer his destiny that becomes intertwined with other characters.
Vishwak Sen plays the role of Shankar, while Chandini Chowdary plays his love interest.
The other cast includes Jahnavi, Abhinaya, Harika Pedda, Dayanand Reddy, Mohammad Samad, Shanti Rao, Mayank Parakh, Dayanand Reddy, Sridhar, John Kottoly, and Sharath Kumar.
Director Kagita kickstarted a crowdfunding campaign for Gaami on Facebook in July 2018. Through a YouTube video, Kagita urged the public to support the project financially.
The campaign garnered substantial backing from both audiences and industry people.
The principal photography began in rural areas near Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, in September 2018.
Filming took place in locations surrounding the Himalayas and Varanasi.

Bhoothaddam Bhaskar Narayana is a new-age crime and investigative thriller. Shiva Kandukuri and Rashi Singh are the lead actors.
Produced by Snehal, Shashidhar and Karthik, this movie is directed by Purushottam Raj. The film was released on 31 March.
After making his debut with the romantic comedy Choosi Choodagane in 2020, Shiva Kandukuri has seen back-to-back duds with Gamanam in 2021, Meet Cute (2022), and Manu Charitrain 2023.
In the trailer of Bhoothaddam Bhaskar Narayana, the viewers are teased with the premise of a whodunit featuring a detective set to disclose the identity of a serial killer.
The killer’s chilling method involves decapitating victims and replacing their heads with “dhishti bomma“, a traditional ceremonial doll believed to ward off the evil eye.
The latter story tells the detective’s quest to unravel the identity of the elusive murderer.
