Corona Kumar, initially supposed to be headlined by Silambarasan, did not take off due to his issues with the production house. But now, reports say Vishnu Vishal has replaced Simbu in the film.
This is the next film Vishnu Vishal will be shooting for, after completing his ongoing project with Ramkumar, tentatively titled VV21.
Directed by Gokul, Corona Kumar was announced two years ago. Vels International is bankrolling it.
According to reports, Corona Kumar is a tentative title and the new title will be launched with a promo video.
Vels International, who released Singapore Saloon and Joshua this year, is expected to make an official announcement on the project soon.
Corona Kumar is likely to go on floors next month. It is touted to be a spin-off of Gokul’s Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara (2013), which starred Vijay Sethupathi in the lead.
Speculations were rife that Vijay Sethupathi would play a cameo role in Corona Kumar.
Meanwhile, Vishnu Vishal was recently seen in Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s directorial Lal Salaam, where Rajinikanth played an extended cameo as Moideen Bhai.
The actor recently signed another film with director Gokul. He is producing the venture under his banner — Vishnu Vishal Studioz. The shooting is likely to commence after Vishnu Vishal warps Corona Kumar.
The Tamil actor is currently busy with Mohandas and Aaryan.
