Rajinikanth to join Coolie sets on 10 June

Superstar Rajinikanth, amidst his annual Himalayan spiritual journey, was captured in a recent clip conversing with a yogi.

In the footage, he discusses wrapping up his scenes for director TJ Gnanavel’s Vettaiyan and announces its release date as 10 October, coinciding with the Dasara festivities.

Additionally, Rajinikanth shares insights about his upcoming project Coolie.

The actor has developed a customary practice of visiting yogis and sadhus when he’s in the Himalayas.

During a discussion with a yogi, Rajinikanth stated that Vettaiyan is set for a Dasara release.

The highly anticipated film boasts a star-studded cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, and Kishore.

He mentioned wrapping up his scenes while filming with the remaining cast members continues.

Rajinikanth further discussed Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie, noting that shooting for the film will begin on June 10.

The makers of Coolie unveiled its title through a promotional video, featuring Rajinikanth mouthing an iconic dialogue from his 1982 film Ranga.

Director Lokesh clarified that Coolie won’t be integrated into his established Lokesh Cinematic Universe, which comprises movies like Kaithi (2019), Vikram (2022), and Leo (2023).

Rajinikanth and his spirituality

Rajinikanth’s deep-rooted interest in spirituality is well-known. Annually, he undertakes a pilgrimage to the Himalayas. This year, his journey included visits to sacred sites such as Kedarnath, Badrinath, and numerous other shrines.

In an interview with ANI at the Dehradun airport, the Tamil superstar expressed his sentiments, stating, “Each year, I encounter new experiences that propel me to embark on my spiritual quest repeatedly. I anticipate that this journey will also bring forth fresh insights.”

He further added, “The whole world needs spirituality, as it’s important for every human being. Being spiritual means experiencing peace and tranquillity, and fundamentally, it involves believing in God.”

Rajinikanth’s most recent outing was Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer (2023). The movie, bankrolled by Sun Pictures, became a blockbuster by grossing over ₹600 crore globally.
