Prabhudheva Rahman film titled Moon Walk

Actor-choreographer-director Prabhudheva is reuniting with Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman after a 25-year hiatus for a film.

On Wednesday, 19 June, the makers revealed the title of the film—Moon Walk, through a poster. The project was tentatively titled ARRPD6 as it marked the sixth collaboration between Prabhudheva and Rahman.

The title poster of Moon Walk showcases Prabhudheva amidst beach sand art, striking the iconic Michael Jackson pose that inspired the film’s name.

Directed by Manoj NS, founder, and CEO of Behindwoods, Moon Walk is billed as a dance musical and wholesome family entertainer.

It also stars Yogi Babu, Satz, Nishma Chengappa, Sushmitha Nayak, Redin Kingsley, Rajendran, Aju Varghese, Arjun Ashokan, Singampuli, Deepa Shankar, Santhosh Jacob, Ramkumar Natarajan, and Lollu Sabha Manohar.

The movie boasts cinematography by Anoop VS and editing by Raymond Derrick Crasta.

Shanoo Muralidharan will oversee the production design.

AR Rahman’s involvement in the project heightened its anticipation.

Prabhudheva and the composer previously collaborated on iconic tracks like “Mukkalaa” and “Urvasi”. Their partnership spans films like Gentleman (1993), Kadhalan (1994), Love Birds (1996), and Minsara Kanavu (1997).

The soundtrack for Moon Walk is expected to offer a similar musical delight, enhancing the film’s allure.

Moon Walk commenced filming last month and wrapped up its first schedule on 15 May. Currently, the team is shooting the second schedule in Chennai.

Produced by Manoj, Divya Majoj, and Praveen Elak, Moon Walk will be released in multiple languages—Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.

AR Rahman is currently juggling numerous ventures, making it challenging to keep up from his independent music platform Maajja and the Firdaus Orchestra in Dubai to his involvement in Sufi music and various film projects spanning languages—including Mani Ratnam-Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life, Aanand L Rai, and Dhanush’s Tere Ishk Mein, and Ram Charan-Shankar’s Game Changer—alongside managing KM Music Conservatory and ARR Film City.

On the acting front, Prabhudheva is involved in Venkat Prabhu’s The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), as well as projects named Musasi and Wolf.
