Second song from GOAT to be released soon

The “Whistle Podu” song from Thalapathy Vijay’s forthcoming flick The Greatest of All Times (GOAT) has received mixed reactions.

Vijay sang the peppy number composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

The 4-minute-47-second soundtrack was also sung by Venkat Prabhu, Yuvan Shankar Raja, and Premgi Amaren.

Madhan Karky wrote the lyrics. Upon its release, the “Whistle Podu” song trended on YouTube.

However, some fans felt that it didn’t have enough “josh” as compared to the songs in the actor’s previous hit films.

These comments reportedly made music director Yuvan Shankar Raja to deactivate his Instagram account.

Meanwhile, director Venkat Prabhu, during an interactive session with Vijay’s fans on X, revealed that the second song from GOAT will be released in June.

During the interactive sessions, a few fans requested the filmmaker to release GOAT teaser at the earliest.

Venkat Prabhu replied that they (makers) will launch the promotional material, songs, and teaser at the appropriate time.

Helmed by Venkat Prabhu, GOAT features Vijay in a dual role.

Recently, the makers shot the climax portions of the film at three different locations in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram. Later, they filmed some crucial scenes in Chennai.

Produced by AGS Entertainment, GOAT casts Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female lead.

Mohan, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Laila, Jayaram, and Yogi Babu play key roles.

The cinematography is by Siddhartha Nuni, the editing is by Venkat Raajen, and the stunts are by Dhilip Subbarayan.

OTT giant Netflix bagged the digital streaming rights of the Vijay-starrer.

Meanwhile, Vijay’s Ghilli, which was re-released on its 20th anniversary, turned out to be a mega success. The movie earned ₹20 crore at the box office.

At the success meet of Ghilli‘s re-release, distributors requested Vijay to do at least one movie a year for his fans.
