Tamil watchlist: ‘Lal Salaam’, ‘Siren’, and ‘Lover’ to release in February

The major Tamil film releasing in February is the sports drama Lal Salaam, directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth.

A couple of small-budget Tamil movies, too, are all set to hit the silver screen.

Let’s take a quick look at the Tamil watchlist for February 2024:

Lal Salaam

Lal Salaam is a sports drama written and directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth. She also wrote the screenplay and dialogue along with Harman H.

Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth are the lead actors. They appear as cricketers in the movie.

Superstar Rajinikanth has a special appearance in the film as Moideen Bhai, a gangster who supports cricket.

Thambi Ramaiah, Jeevitha Rajaseskhar, Thangadurai, and the World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev are a part of it.

Lal Salaam is set to hit the big screens on 9 February in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.

The film is produced by Lyca Productions.

AR Rahman composed the music.

It was expected to be released for Pongal, but the makers put it off to February.

A grand audio launch was organised in Chennai on 26 January. Superstar Rajinikanth attended it.

Siren

Jayam Ravi and Keerthy Suresh’s upcoming action thriller, Siren, will hit the marquee in February.

The movie is directed by Antony Bhagyaraj, who earlier worked as a writer for Viswasam (2019), Irumbu Thirai (2018), and Hero (2019).

In the Tamil film, Jayam Ravi plays an ambulance driver-turned-prisoner.

Siren is bankrolled by Sujatha Vijayakumar under the banner of Home Movie Makers.

GV Prakash is the music composer.

Selva Kumar SK is the cinematographer.

Ruben is the editor.

Lover

Actor Manikandan’s romance drama Lover will be released in theatres on 9 February.

Directed by Prabhuram Vyas, the Tamil film casts Sri Gouri Priya Reddy and Kanna Ravi in key roles.

The music is composed by Sean Roldan.

The teaser gives a glimpse into the intense love story of the lead actors and the twists and turns that happen in their lives.

Lover has music composed by Sean Roldan.

The cinematography is by Shreyaas Krishna, and the editing is by Barath Vikraman.

It is produced by Nazareth Pasilian, Magesh Raj Pasilian and Yuvaraj Ganesan under the banners Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment.

Vadakkupatti Ramasamy

Popular Tamil actor Santhanam’s upcoming Tamil film Vadakkupatti Ramasamy is gearing up for release in February.

Directed by Karthik Yogi, the period comedy is set in the 1960s.

The trailer of the movie was released some time ago.

Vadakkupatti Ramasamy has Megha Akash as the leading lady.

It is all set for release on 2 February.

The cast includes Tamizh (as the antagonist), MS Baaskar, Nizhalgal Ravi, Ravi Maria, John Vijay, Seshu, Jacqueline, and Motta Rajendran.

Sean Roldan is the music director, and Deepak is the cinematographer.
