Actor Shruti Haasan has joined the sets of her upcoming international project, Chennai Story.
The movie is directed by BAFTA-nominated director Philip John.
In her Instagram stories, the actor shared the mahurat shot and some moments from the sets of Chennai Story.
Shruti shared a video with the caption: “New day. New movie. New energy. Thankful.”
The actor also shared a video of her travelling to the shooting location in her car.
The movie is adapted from Timeri N Murari’s bestseller “The Arrangements of Love“.
It is a coming-of-age romantic comedy and the story is based in Chennai.
Shruti Haasan takes on the key role of Anu, a spunky private detective.
Interestingly, Chennai Story marks Shruti’s third international outing after the Treadstone drama series (2010) and the psychological thriller The Eye (2023).
Shruti Haasan recently sizzled in the music video Inimelwith Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who debuted as an actor. The music video was produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International.
While Kamal penned the lyrics of the song, Shruti was the conceptualiser-composer.
Inimel drew huge applause for its contemporary theme and music besides the scintillating onscreen chemistry between Shruti and Lokesh.
Meanwhile, the second single, “Hey Nainika“, from the upcoming movie Teenz will be released at 5 pm on Tuesday, 2 April. The song was sung by Shruti Haasan and RK Adithya.
It was written by Radhakrishnan Parthiban and composed by D Imman.
Music composer Devi Sri Prasad will launch the single.
