Netflix bags digital rights of GOAT

Director Venkat Prabhu’s upcoming film with Thalapathy Vijay, The Greatest Of All Time (GOAT), has evoked huge expectations from the audience and industry insiders.

Well, GOAT will be one of the last projects of Vijay, who announced a break from films in the wake of his entry into politics. In fact, on 2 February, the actor announced the launch of his political party — Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam.

The makers of GOAT announced the title on New Year’s Eve. They also released the first-look poster along with the title.

And now, reports say the OTT giant Netflix bagged the digital rights of GOAT.

The new shooting schedule of the film commenced in Moscow. The team recently wrapped the schedule in Chennai.

The title poster of GOAT gave away the fact that Vijay will be seen in two roles. Indeed, he will play twins.

Interestingly, in the poster, both characters appear to be dressed like paratroopers, with a flight above and a parachute behind them.

The poster also had the tagline: “Light can devour darkness but darkness cannot consume the light.”

Produced by AGS Entertainment, GOAT casts Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female lead.

It also features Mohan, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Laila, Jayaram, and Yogi Babu in key roles.

The Tamil film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni.

The editing is by Venkat Raajen and the stunts are by Dhilip Subbarayan.
