Poster of Nivin Pauly and Nayanthara’s ‘Dear Students’ out

The first-look poster reveals that Nayanthara plays a teacher in the film. The project will start rolling soon.

Nayanthara last appeared in Malayalam alongside Nivin Pauly in Love Action Drama (2019). The romantic-comedy drama, which marked the directorial debut of Dhyan Sreenivasan, was a commercial hit.

And now, the duo will soon be seen together in Dear Students, directed by George Philip Roy and Sandeep Kumar.

When the project was announced in 2022, it was speculated that it might cast Nayanthara as the leading lady.

On Sunday, 14 April, on the occasion of Vishu, the makers finally confirmed that Nayanthara came on board.

They also released a first-look poster video of Dear Students, where Nayanthara appears as a teacher.

In the poster, they further announced that shooting would begin soon.

Welcoming the actor, Nivin Pauly wrote on his socials: “Into the fun and gripping world of “Dear Students” joins, the incredible, ever radiant Nayanthara.”

Given the success of Love Action Drama, Dear Students is drawing huge expectations from fans.

Nayanthara was lauded for her performance in director Atlee’s Jawan (2023), where she paired with Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan.

However, the Tamil actor failed to impress her fans and moviegoers with her next outing, Annapoorani-The Goddess of Food (2023), where she played a chef.

The movie was pulled down from the OTT giant Netflix after a few organisations filed complaints against the actor and the makers for hurting Hindu sentiments and promoting “love jihad”. The

Nayanthara responded to the complaints and clarified that hurting anyone’s sentiments was not their intention. She also apologised for doing so.

Meanwhile, Nivin Pauly played a prominent role in Vineeth Sreenivasan’s latest offering Varshangalkku Shesham. He was showered with praises for his comic timing.

His next film is Malayalee from India, directed by Dijo Jose Antony. It will hit the theatres on 1 May.
