Creates history in Tamil Nadu

Manjummel Boys has been a relief for the theatres in Tamil Nadu, where the industry did not see any hits after the Pongal season.

Only Captain Miller (2024) and Ayalaan (2024) had set the bells ringing at the box office.

According to CinetrakFlash tracking website, Manjummel Boys surpassed the collection of Lal Salaam on Monday, 4 March (including the advance sales), and became the third-highest grosser of 2024 in Tamil Nadu.

Further, the flick witnessed good bookings over the weekend and the overall gross collection from Tamil Nadu crossed ₹10 crore, a first-ever achievement for a Malayalam movie.

The references to the Tamil cult movie Guna (1991) and actor Kamal Hassan were the selling points for Manjummel Boys in Tamil Nadu.

The multiplexes in Chennai had bookings similar to that of a mainstream Tamil movie. Even in smaller towns like Tirupur, Salem and Trichy, the film ran to packed houses.

According to trade experts, the movie earned up to ₹15 crore in 11 days from 221 screens in Tamil Nadu.

Manjummel Boys is produced by Parava Films and Sree Gokulam Films.

It features Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Jean Paul, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Ganapathy, Chandu Salim Kumar, Vishnu Raghu, Deepak Parambol, Arun Kurian, and Balu Varghese in major roles.

The cinematography was by Shyju Khalid. The music was composed by Sushin Syam.

Meanwhile, director Girish AD‘s Premalu is all set to touch the ₹100-crore mark. It collected around ₹80 crore gross worldwide.
