Here’s some good news for Mammootty’s fans. The release date of the actor’s upcoming film, Turbo, has been preponed to 23 May.
The makers earlier announced that the film will be released on 13 June. However, they preponed the release date of Turbo by a few weeks (on 23 May).
The film is touted to be a comedy-action entertainer.
The Malayalam movie is helmed by director Vysakh. Mammootty teamed up with the filmmaker for the third time after their successful films Pokkiriraja (2010) and Madhura Raja (2019).
Earlier, the first-look poster of Turbo created waves on social media. Mammootty looked uber stylish in a Black shirt and a White dhoti. The poster also introduced him as Turbo Jose.
Kannada actor Raj B Shetty is also a part of Turbo. This is his second Malayalam film after Rudhiram, which is in the post-production stage.
Raj B Shetty is popular in Kerala as his movie Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana (2021) has a fan base in Kerala. His recent Kannada movie Toby (2023) was dubbed into Malayalam and it enjoyed a good run in theatres.
Telugu actor Sunil is also playing a pivotal role in the film.
Turbo is the fifth production venture under Mammootty’s banner Mammootty Kampany. The shooting of the big-budget movie started last year.
His other upcoming projects include Bazooka, directed by Deeno Dennis, and an untitled film under the direction of Mahesh Narayanan.
The Superstar scored a superhit this year with Bramayugam.
