Mammootty’s new movie titled Bramayugam started rolling on Thursday, 17 August.

In this, the Malayalam superstar joined hands with young director Rahul Sadasivan whose previous flick Bhoothakaalam (2022) won rave reviews.

Bramayugam is touted to be a horror thriller. The pan-Indian film will be released in five languages — Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.

Director Rahul already proved his excellence in the horror genre. His Bhoothakaalam is considered one of the finest horror films released in Malayalam in recent times.

Rooted in Kerala’s dark ages

Addressing the pooja function, Rahul Sivadas said, “I am overjoyed to be able to direct the legendary Mammookka (Mammootty), Bramayugam is a rooted story set in the dark ages (superstitions) of Kerala.”

He further added, “I am grateful to the producers for their support in stretching the boundaries of making this into an immersive film experience. I hope it will be a treat for Mammookka fans and genre fans all over the world.”

The film is scripted by Rahul Sadasivan himself.
