Veteran actor Mammootty is now working on several projects. Most of his films are produced under his own production house — Mammootty Kampany. The latest, Kannur Squad directed by Roby Varghese is currently being filmed at the famous Maharaja’s College in Ernakulam.

Incidentally, the actor is also an alumnus of the college. Earlier too, Mammootty attended various functions at Maharaja’s College. This time, as part of film promotions, he posted a video on his visit to the college.

In the video, he is seen sitting in the library and scrolling through an old college magazine where his photograph (his first) was published.

Mammootty recollected his good-old days spent in Maharaja’s College, the books he read and the arts he learnt. He also asserted that times changed but the vibe inside the college did not change.

Actor-comedian Ramesh Pisharody and comedian Aziz are also seen with the actor in the video. People who gathered around asked Mammootty about his old-time experiences at college.

Vijay Babu lashes out at fake online critics

Vijay Babu’s Friday Film House is a prominent production house in Malayalam. Enkilum Chandrike is the latest movie from the banner which received positive reviews from critics and audiences.

Two weeks after the release, Vijay Babu lashed out at a fake critic who reviewed the movie on four YouTube channels even before the first show of Enkilum Chandrike was over.

The actor took to Facebook to vent his anger: Cinemayude…. “nookkikoolikar”, a term used to say getting money without doing any work.

He thanked all the genuine critics for their positive and negative reviews and stated that the team gets motivated by the positives and learns from the negatives.

Vijay Babu also said he is waiting for the movie to finish its initial run to bring this to the public. He also alerted the film fraternity to be cautious about such critics.

Enkilum Chandrike is directed by Adithyan Chandrasekharan. It casts Suraj Venjaramoodu, Basil Joseph, Saiju Kurup, and Abhiram Radhakrishnan in key roles.

Sathyan Anthikad’s love for his Maruti 800

Director Sathyan Anthikad is popular among family audiences in Kerala. His films have a minimum guarantee. The director bought his Maruti 800 33 years ago. Though he bought a Honda City, he still owns the Maruti car.

Sathyan posted a video briefing about his love for the car. The video is part of the promotion of his upcoming movie Maheshum Marutiyum directed by Sethu.

In the video, Sathyan Anthikad shared his old memories which seem to be interesting for Malayalee audiences. He spoke about a trip to a shooting spot via his Maruti car. The veteran director and actor-director Sreenivasan travelled a lot by car during the shooting of Thalayanamanthram and Sandesham.

Sathyan Anthikad is a close friend of Mohanlal and Mammootty. The latter, too, travelled in the former’s car. Sathyan also recalled an incident where Mammootty drove his car from the shooting sets of Ponthanmada.

Asif Ali-Mamta Mohandas’s Maheshum Marutiyum revolves around the protagonist’s relationship with his Maruti car and his romantic life with Gauri played by Mamta Mohandas.

The film is produced by Maniyan Pilla Raju and is slated for release on 10 March.
