Malayalam actors Arjun Ashokan and Sangeeth Prathap and a stunt director suffered injuries in a car accident on Saturday, 27 July, during the shooting of their forthcoming film Bromance.
The accident occurred when their car collided with two bikes and toppled over near MG Road in Kochi at around 1.30 am. The crew was filming a stunt scene when this happened, the police said.
A food delivery agent also sustained an injury on his leg as the speeding car rammed into his bike. Both actors, the food delivery agent and the stunt director were rushed to a nearby private hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
According to reports, the car collided with the bike while trying to overtake it but toppled on the road after hitting another two-wheeler.
In the visuals aired by various TV channels, the car was seen completely damaged. Arjun Ashokan and Sangeeth Prathap suffered minor injuries in the car accident. Meanwhile, the condition of the stunt director and the food delivery agent is stable now.
After being alerted, the police reached the accident spot and cleared the traffic on the busy road. Meanwhile, the shooting of Bromance came to a halt.
The cops said they registered a case for rash driving and are investigating.
Soon after the news about the road mishap broke, rumours started circulating that team Bromance was shooting the film without any safety measures.
Bromance is directed by Arun D Jose and features Arjun Ashokan, and Mathew Thomas in major roles. Mahima Nambiar is the female lead.
The movie also casts Premalu (2024) actors Shyam Mohan and Sangeeth Prathap in key roles. The cinematography is handled by Akhil George and the editing by Chaman Chakko. The music is composed by Govind Vasantha.
It is produced by Ashiq Usman and distributed by Central Pictures.
Arjun Ashokan delivered many hits in 2023—Romancham, Pranaya Vilasam, Thuramukham, Theeppori Benny, Chaaver, and Otta. He was also part of Khali Purse of Billionaires and Thrishanku.
