Superstar Mahesh Babu has declared that his fans are everything for him. He was addressing a massive gathering of film lovers and Ghattamaneni fans, who assembled to witness the pre-release event of his highly-anticipated film Guntur Kaaram in Guntur city on Tuesday evening, 9 January.

Mahesh Babu revealed that Sankranthi festival has always been a special occasion for his family. “Sankranthi is a very special occasion for me and my father, the late Superstar Krishna. I would feel so happy receiving phone calls from my father after watching my film. He used to brief me about the box-office collections and performances. It was a great experience. Since he is no more, you are my father and my mother from now on,” he told his fans.

Guntur Kaaram will be released worldwide on January 12 for Sankranthi. It is produced by S Radha Krishna under the Haarika and Hassine Creations banner.

Helmed by director Trivikram Srinivas, Guntur Karam is touted to be an action drama starring Superstar Mahesh Babu and Sreeleela in the lead roles.

The film has Meenakshi Chaudhary in a cameo appearance. Jagapathi Babu will play the antagonist.

Senior artistes Jayaram and Prakash Raj are playing key roles.

At the pre-release event, Mahesh Babu recalled that every time he collaborated with director Trivikram, magic took place in their projects.

“Our journey started with Athadu (2005) and magic happened in Khaleja (2010). I am sure that magic will happen again with Guntur Kaaram. You all will see a new Mahesh Babu on the screen,” he announced.

The Superstar also admitted that it was a tough task for him to match the dance moves of co-star Sreeleela. He said music composer Thaman S gave some amazing tunes for the movie.

“When asked if he (Thaman) could do the ‘Kurchi Madathapetti…’ song, he didn’t hesitate. That’s the reason he has a special place in my heart,” the actor added.

Before signing off, Mahesh Babu said, “The love and affection my fans have been showering on me for the last 25 years is immense. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
