Fahadh Faasil's Aavesham grosses ₹50 crore

The three Vishu releases in Malayalam — Aavesham, Varshangalku Sesham, and Jai Ganesh — have registered good collections at the box office.

However, Aavesham is leading the race because of a brilliant Fahadh Faasil, who turned a mass hero for the first time in the flick.

The Malayalam movie has all the elements to woo youngsters to theatres and the festive vacation has surely helped it rake in the moolah.

Aavesham grosses ₹50 crore

On Tuesday, 16 April, the Fahadh Faasil-starrer created a record by collecting a gross of ₹50 crore worldwide in six days. This is the fastest Malayalam movie to gross ₹50 crore.

Released on 11 April, Aavesham received a tremendous response from the Malayalam audience.

Extra shows were added after it got a positive talk on the opening day.

The movie is also doing good business outside Kerala.

According to the Sacnilk tracking site, Aavesham collected a gross of ₹20.51 crore in India. It earned ₹3.65 crore on day 1, ₹4.75 crore on day 2, ₹4.25 crore on day 3, ₹4.75 core on day 4 and ₹3.75 crore on day 5.

The tiff between PVR-INOX and the Kerala Film Producers’ Association (KFPA) affected the collections of Vishu releases. However, the decision of PVR-INOX to screen Malayalam films came as a sigh of relief to the industry.

Interestingly, Aavesham is Jithu Madahavan’s second movie to collect ₹50 crore. His previous outing, Romancham (2023), entered the ₹50-crore club in 23 days.

Meanwhile, Aavesham is Fahadh Faasil’s second ₹50 crore movie after Njan Prakashan (2018).
