The success of Kannur Squad is a piece of refreshing news for the Malayalam industry which is reeling under financial issues since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Mammootty-starrer is still being screened in over 90 theatres across the state.
Its success also won goodwill for Mammootty Kampany, the production house of Mammootty. His previous production ventures — Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam (2023), and Rorschach (2022) — were also received well by the Malayali audience.
His next release, Kaathal-The Core, is also produced by Mammootty Kampany and is hitting the marquee on 23 November.
Turbo, another big-budget movie directed by Vysakh, is also bankrolled by Mammootty’s own banner.
While the industry is overwhelmed by the positive reviews received for Suresh Gopi’s Garudan, the Kerala box office will see the release of a good number of films in November and December.
On 10 November, Dileep’s Bandra is hitting the screens along with Jigardanda Double X, Japan, and Tiger 3.
Sesham Mike-il Fathima is slated for release on on17 November.
